It's hard to meet people, living on your own for the first time. It seemed less intimidating a feat through a dating app, though, your 'date' stood you up, leaving you by yourself at a seedy bar with the pounding rain. Defeating enough for you to accept a drink and a conversation from one of the friendly patrons.
Maybe it's still worth it to try? Your fear of strangers seems so silly. Face-to-face is safer, anyways. Right?

It wasn't just the toy, but the whole dynamic. He’d gotten on his knees for others, yes, and he’d had it pretty rough a handful of times, but--well. He’d been a bit boring, he supposed. More straight to the point. The Narrator brought out a different side of him. More aggressive, sure, but also capable of a very unique kind of joy.
