Buffy picks up the baby and starts to hand him over. “Just—mind his head, and—uh huh, yeah, like that—” She makes a little hmph sound, because it’s cute, the way Spike’s holding him like he’s terrified, his shoulders hunched together. He glances up nervously, like he’s looking for reassurance.
Buffy just laughs.
“Haven’t you ever held a baby before?” she asks, but as she’s saying it, it hits her.
