His shadows ripple across the floor, twisting in the sunlight that sifts through the window, catching dust motes like tiny stars in their folds. Lucien hesitates, then holds out a hand. Slowly, almost reverently, the shadows flood toward him, shifting and curling around his fingers, up his arm. Azriel’s gaze traces him, noting the slight tilt of his lips, the way his eyelashes catch the sunlight, the faint flush that lingers on his cheeks.
Azriel smiles, a quiet, fond curl of lips. He lets the shadows drape over the fox, but restrains them to his arms and shoulders.
Lucien wriggles as one delves through his hair, tracing the curve of his ear and lingering there, teasing in its attention. A shiver passes over the emissary, and Azriel notices, quiet satisfaction pricking at the edge of his chest.
“Az”, Lucien hisses, a little breathily. “What…”
He likes the way Lucien says his name like that—soft, unguarded, the sharp edges worn down into something almost sweet. It settles low in his chest, warmer than it should.

Gray & Natsu vent fic.
I'll never leave you.
At first Gray thought he was stupid for promising such a thing. He thought Natsu would get taken either way, promise or not. He had said that a promise was just words and words couldn't stop anything. Natsu had just smiled, bright and happy. Gray was told he would be proven wrong. And he was. Everytime they came at a crossroads, a rough fight, an enemy that seemed impossible to beat Natsu found a way. Not once did he give up. Not once did Natsu stop, even when Gray himself was uncertain. Natsu still proves him wrong to this day.
And now, safely wrapped in his arms, Gray wouldn't have it any other way.

after galuna island, gray suddenly notices the little things in life. the moonlight, the flowers, the rain.
grief was in everything he did. he felt it when he was brushing his teeth or walking to the guild hall. he felt it when he was laying in bed late at night. he can especially feel it now, sitting on the beach, staring at the ocean, cigarette in hand.
and when a familiar voice appears behind him, gray can't help but roll his eyes as the pink-haired man takes a seat next to him.
