Summary
Ryan finds himself in need of a new skeptic to bring on board and in the uncomfortable position of having to sleep in a demon-infested house, and he really just picks Shane on a whim, nothing else. No particular reason.
It’s not like he has any personal stakes in helping Shane find out whether or not he would date a demon.
Just because Ryan happens to be a demon, that doesn’t mean he cares or anything.
… Shane’s really tall though, is the thing.
Shane doesn't believe in demons. Ryan happens to be one.

“Wait! Shane don’t-“ He gets cut off by the sight of Shane sitting at the edge of the bed with Ryan’s laptop in front of him, open. They both freeze as Shane meets Ryan’s eyes just as he enters the doorway with a hand outstretched too little too late. Shane’s expression is indiscernible and Ryan is extremely tempted to turn around, open the front door, take a long walk and disappear into the ocean forever.

Summary
That night, they have a good, filling dinner, watch a movie and drink a couple of beers. It’s not enough to get drunk, because Shane wants Ryan to be aware of things, but enough to give them a little buzz, enough to loosen muscles and make both of them a little sleepy. Especially Ryan. He nods off against Shane’s shoulder during the second movie and when he sits up again, he makes a show of yawning and stretching and rubbing his eyes. He looks very, very sleepy and Shane would usually think about how cute he looks, but he knows the implications this time and his mouth goes dry.
“I think I’m gonna turn in.” Ryan says, voice very soft and light and he mumbles a lot more than he usually would, but Shane gives himself a push and plays along. He reaches out and runs a hand through Ryan’s hair, pulls him in and kisses his forehead, caring and sweet.
“You look so tired baby, you really should. I’ll stay up a little longer, alright?”
Ryan nods, eyes nearly slipping shut all the way. He smiles softly as Shane takes his face in his hands and kisses him on the mouth, lingering just a little bit.
“Okay.” He finally says. “Goodnight, Shane.”

Summary
“Don’t be such a silly little boy.”
Ryan’s shout of protest is halfway out of his throat when it gets stuck. His face flushes hot and something else coils under his belly button as he watches Shane turn away to grab his box again. His co-host is not looking back at Ryan, instead he takes long strides down the hallway with the props and Ryan nearly chokes trying to dislodge the remark in his throat. It’s nonsense. It’s unprecedented. It’s frankly ridiculous.
But Ryan, who up to this point was absolutely sure that he was comfortably straight, has the worst boner in his life since puberty.
And he is pretty sure that Shane’s comment is to blame for it.Fuck.
