Han Seok later couldn’t recall what exactly happened. He just knew that one moment he stood there looking at Han Seo, and the next he staggered as his hand shook, the globe falling down and rolling somewhere. He realized Han Seo’s fingers were now gripping the wrist of his hand tightly. Han Seok looked at his brother. Han Seo’s beautiful eyes were wide open, myriad emotions in them, and his lips were trembling.
‘Hyung,’ Han Seok heard. No, not heard. It was as if the word appeared in his mind, not even a word, more of a feeling, the wave of emotions so strong it left him gasping for breath. Hyung-scared-fear-shelter-want-don’t-want-please.

Earlier that afternoon, on one of Jaeyoung's posts, one of his ex-boyfriends had left a comment. It was cheerful, and by all intents and purposes platonic, but he had nightmares about some of his previous partners' reactions to this exact occurrence. His refusal to shut it down in a timely manner led to many a blow out fight, and inevitably, a break up. Back then, he'd been the one who didn't see the issue; he wasn't with them anymore, what was the big deal?
But losing Sangwoo to something like that would devastate him.
Or it would, if Sangwoo seemed to care whatsoever.

Seokjin busies himself opening his gift while Taehyung removes his coat. Inside the bag is an expensive bottle of champagne and a small box that feels heavy: both literally and with meaning. It’s the type of box that holds jewelry.
“Tae, this is too much.” He means it.
“It’s just something small,” Taehyung insists, shifting side to side. He’s clasped his hands behind his back, and Seokjin can’t help but note how the position calls attention to his biceps. It would be hard not to notice, given how tight his cabled sweater is. Probably intentional. That type of posturing would read as insecurity on anybody else, but this is Taehyung.
Seokjin swallows, now caught between two evils — Taehyung’s gift and the sight of him.
Taehyung returns from enlistment, and Seokjin can't help but notice that a few things have changed.
