Harry is awoken by the sudden weight of his dog across his chest, and he yawns and stretches his arms above his head, relishing the crack of his back the gesture produces and sending Fen tumbling down onto the bed. There’s a niggling sensation that he has something important to do that day, but in his still-sleepy state he’s struggling to recall what it is. When it hits him, he freezes mid-rub of his eyes, and his hand slowly falls to the furs strewn across the bed. His fingers tangle into their soft texture and he bites his lip.
Right. It’s that day.
The day he’s meant to travel south.

"How convenient." Hiccup eases back a fraction, just enough to spare his shoulders the worst of the strain, chains slackening with a muted clink. His wrists are livid, skin split and inflamed where iron has chafed it raw, but even now he treats it as an afterthought, as beneath his notion, like he is proving something by disregarding his own afflictions. "You have me chained like an animal," he says, voice razor-edged, "but it's your safety you're worried about?"
Viggo's expression flickers, shifts into something keen and quietly delighted. "A reasonable concern, given your reputation."
Viggo has finally managed to capture the elusive Dragon Master, Hiccup Haddock, keeping him locked away in his dungeons. He decides to pay the boy a visit and see for himself why he has such a fearsome reputation.
He is not disappointed.

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock was raised by the Forge, and like a dragon, is forged from heat and iron. He does not last long without it.

And Toothless would not accept the alternative. To lose their fire, a dragon would rather die.
Hiccup's always had the heart of a dragon. Hiccup runs away from Berk and gets the freedom he's always wanted. (However, problems don't stop existing just because you run away from them.)
