Sometimes, even if you’re already perfectly happy with your life, the Cauldron snatches it away from you and plops you down in a brand new one that you don’t understand.
Sometimes, even if your heart has been broken for centuries, the Cauldron throws a girl at you—metaphorically, but also sort of literally?—and you don’t manage to duck in time.
It’s all rather overwhelming.
But, if you give it time, you’ll figure out who you are, and how to love again. It’ll all work out in the end — it just might take a decade or two or ten.

Summary
Eighty-one years have passed since Feyre Archeron first went to Prythian as a half-starved human teenager.
All she wants to do today is pop into her old human village, remind herself of how much better she’s doing as High Fae, and head right back home.
Meanwhile, on the Continent, all Lucien wants to do is to enjoy lunch without the High Lady of the Night Court showing up out of nowhere and derailing his day.
Neither one will get what they want. Alas.
