Summary
She had asked him once before, in the frosted haze of a winter morning, to stay with her. To stay with her next to the frozen river and grow old together.
She liked to think that part of them had done as she asked, stopped where they were, turned away from the violence and terror and death waiting for them out in the world, and just lived. She hoped those parts, at least, had managed to find some sort of happiness in the twilight of their childhood.
When it all became too much, when she got scared enough to remember that, after all, they were just kids, she would imagine them together, draped in summer, laughing by the water. If she reached out, she could almost touch them.
----
After almost losing Harry, Hermione decides that, if they are going to win the war against Voldemort, she will have to lead. The story begins at the Battle of Hogwarts. After the diadem is destroyed, everything changes.

Not completely finished but there is a reasonable ending here.
A/B/O is kinda my jam and this is an interesting take on that trope. Solid writing and world building. No one is OOC.
This'll be a re-read.
PS - if anyone sees this rec, please do not ask writer for more. Sometimes the Muse goes into hiding and it's okay. Of course we want more but that's what we want, and immediately. As a writer, I know that asking for completion only makes the writer feel guilty. Don't do it, please.

Summary
Remus grew red in the face. His voice rose as he spoke, “This is illegal. They cannot be made to do this. It goes against Wizarding culture, and centuries of tradition. It goes against common fucking sense. What more will they ask of them? What more, Sirius?”
Harry looked to Hermione as she took the letter. The communication that passed them was swift and silent. They had been through one war, and if fate brought them another, so mote it be. His pulse was steady, and Harry found that the worry and confusion was fading away, giving rise to a need to take action in the face of this unnamed foe.
The confident look on her face faded as she scanned the official letter quickly. Harry didn’t like the fear that bloomed in her eyes.
She looked up, and Harry wasn’t sure he had heard her properly when she said, “I have to get married.”
