(Awkward, sweet meet-cute with some laugh out loud funny lines. So nice to be taken!)

Clarke looked at her, her smile widening. “You’re kinda terrible at flirting.”

Lexa groaned and dropped her head into her hands. “Is this about earlier? Because I’d really love to forget about that forever.”

“Nope. Not happening.” Clarke grinned. “But lucky for you, I’m feeling generous. I’m going to teach you.”

    Lexa blinked. “Teach me?”

    “Yeah. Flirting lessons. Right now.”

    Lexa frowned. “That’s unnecessary.”

Clarke shrugged. “But it’ll be so fun for me.”

Lexa exhaled sharply, resigned. “Fine. If it’ll make you happy.”

Clarke’s eyes twinkled. “It will.” She straightened up and cleared her throat.“Okay, let’s pretend we’re at the bar. Imagine I’m a very pretty woman.”

Well, that part’s not hard to imagine.

She dramatically flipped her hair, adjusted her shirt slightly so her cleavage was more visible, and sighed dreamily. “Oh, I’m sooo thirsty,” she cooed, batting her lashes. “I sure wish someone would buy me a drink.”

Lexa was using every ounce of self-control she had to not look down at Clarke's... assets.

Lexa inhaled, focused, and then opened her mouth. “I want- I was wondering- maybe - perchance—”

    Clarke’s eyes widened. “Perchance?”

Lexa groaned. “That was—no. I meant—” She cleared her throat. “You’re a swell kind of gal.”

    Clarke stared at her. “Lexa.”

    “What?”

    “That’s worse.”

Lexa clenched her jaw. “Okay, wait.” She squared her shoulders, deepened her voice, and said, “Hey girl, what your name is.”

Clarke made an actual choking sound. “Oh my God.”

    Lexa winced. “No good?”

“No good,” Clarke confirmed, wheezing through her laughter.

Lexa inhaled sharply, grasping at the last shreds of her dignity. She locked eyes with Clarke, blue and all cute, and summoned every ounce of nonexistent charm she had.

    Say something smooth. Something clever.

    “What that thang do?”

The words left her mouth before she could stop them. Her soul immediately departed her body.

Clarke nearly fell off the couch.

“Oh my God, Lexa.” Clarke clutched her stomach, unable to breathe from laughter. “What that thang—where did you even—?”

Lexa crossed her arms, cheeks burning. “You said practice.”

“I didn’t say commit crimes against the art of seduction.” Clarke wiped at her eyes, trying to compose herself. She pointed at Lexa, still grinning. “You are actually hopeless.”

Lexa huffed. “Or maybe I’m just ahead of my time.”

Clarke shook her head, still giggling. “No, you’re definitely not.”

Lexa sighed dramatically. “So, what? You’re just going to make fun of me, or are you actually going to teach me?”

Clarke’s smirk returned, her blue eyes glinting with mischief. “Oh, don’t worry. I’m going to teach you. We’re just getting started.” She rubbed her hands together, clearly delighted.

Lexa had a feeling she was in for a long night.

    Summary

Ivy had not been touched by anyone in ten years. At least, not anyone who lived for more than a few minutes afterward.

But she hadn’t minded. She was a misanthrope, a hater of the human infestation. Being alone was kind of her deal. Her idea of a good fucking time.

Then came Harley. And then came Harley’s touch. Now, she couldn’t quite seem to get enough.

    “Red?”

Roused slightly, Ivy responded with a sleepy murmur.

“You called me baby when you were fixing me up,” Harley whispered, yet the words seemed so loud, so heavy in the silence of the darkened room.

Ivy was awake now, and she had gone very, very still.

They hadn’t mentioned that night a single time in the past month. She had hoped they never would; she had hoped Harley had forgotten it altogether. The memory of it was a raw nerve, too exposed, too painful.

The mattress dipped behind her as Harley inched closer. “I don’t always remember stuff right, but I remember that. It was real. I know it was real.”

Harley’s voice was so sweet, so tender. Ivy exhaled a shaky breath but dared not respond. They were teetering on the precipice, tenuously balanced between safety and the unknown, and she was equally terrified of landing on either side.

Harley closed the gap between them completely as she curled around Ivy’s back. Her words brushed against Ivy’s ear like a caress, “Maybe you can call me that again sometime.” Her arm encircled Ivy’s waist now, warm and steady. “If you want to.”

Ivy swallowed hard, her voice was lost, adrift as her heart.

“Baby,” Harley continued softly. “I’ve been called a lot of things, but never that. It made me feel so…” The words trailed away, punctuated with the smallest sigh. Ivy was immobile, speechless, completely undone when she felt Harley press a kiss to her shoulder. “‘Night, Pammy. Don’t let the flower bugs bite.”

    '“Red? You busy?”

“No, I’m just…” She glanced up, and instantly forgot how to speak. Harley was standing just inside the doorway, hair loose around her shoulders, face bare, breathtaking. A crimson robe that barely hit mid-thigh, its silky fabric gleaming in the dim lamplight, gaped open in the front above the tied sash, revealing a sliver of pale skin from chest to stomach. Ivy’s lips parted, her pulse hammering so hard she could nearly hear it. “…reading,” she finished weakly.

Harley fiddled with the long end of the ribbon at her waist, her face tinged with a vulnerability Ivy had rarely ever seen. “Maybe you can take a break for a while?”

Wordlessly, she slowly closed her book with shaking hands. Slowly placed it on the nightstand to buy a moment of time. It didn’t matter; she simply could not look away. Could not breathe. Could not release the hope that had crawled its way into her chest.

Harley bit her bottom lip. Gave a nod as if steeling herself even as a flush raced across her skin. “You can tell me to leave,” she said quietly, shifting foot to foot. “If this isn’t…We can pretend like this never happened.”

As if she could ever forget this. As if she’d ever want to.

“I’d never tell you to leave,” Ivy managed, voice raw. Honest. “I’ve only ever wanted you to stay.”'

    Summary

Harley and Ivy are on a crime spree after breaking out of Arkham! But, they are also feeling kind of weird around each other, too? Like, the crimes they have been committing together brought out something sexy and feral in them? Anyway, things have gotten hella’ awkward. Harley is all there for it, but Red seems to be a bit unsure of it all.

Meanwhile, Kitty (AKA Selina Kyle), hot jewelry-burglar-extraordinaire, gets word about a very exciting heist opportunity involving a secret face lotion cream, manufactured by a one Janus Cosmetics, promising the user to look at least a decade younger. At first, she tries to do the job and steal the formula herself, but realizes she needs a biochemist to uncover the company’s dark secrets.

Come for the fun, stay for the sexiness, the love, and the mystery! It’s the Gotham City Sirens doing what they do best; causing trouble and inadvertently saving the day.

Oh, and Babs is in this.

Also, don’t worry, Harley’s POV ain’t the whole narration (though, Harley personally finds herself to be the most entertaining). This has different close third person perspectives from all the ladies.

Awesome start with Harley pondering Ocean 11 plotholes before going all Too Fast Too Furious while driving the get-away car for a pheromone-less Ivy who's up to something while Selina does her thieving thing and flirts with Bats. Fun story!

    Bookmarker's Notes

What an amazing, intricate, cinematic story! This is better than most superhero movies/shows I've seen lately. The characters are well-written and interesting, the plot is intriguing and seeds planted throughout come to fruition and tie together in the end. The action is outstanding -- I was on the edge of my seat several times, especially during the attack on Harley and Ivy's home. And the humor sprinkiled throughout? Hilarious! Especially loved Harley's conversations with Solomon Grundy, and Betsy stalking one of the string quartet. Awesome sauce!

(Sprurned by those they love, Ivy and Selina find solace in each other.)

The people they most desired hadn’t had the courage to seize the opportunity of having an actual meaningful relationship with them, immediately running away from the tiniest semblance of true romantic affection, so all they really had in this harsh world was each other.

“I don’t see anything wrong in wanting to feel less lonely” Selina had said sloppily, costume shed, breath tasting of expensive wine, one night almost a year ago now.

They were similar in that aspect. They'd loved but hadn't been loved.

    Not with the same intensity.

Always the lowest on the list.
