Mack takes a mental inventory.
-They're in each other’s pants.
-Their underwear are in a pile on the floor.
-The door is locked.
-There's a sticky streak down Will’s abs.
-Mack’s lips are swollen."Yeah," Mack says. "I guess we did."
They may not remember exactly what happened, but they get the gist. And when both of them score a dick trick at the next game, they figure they've got to recreate it before every game.
You know, for the betterment of the team.

Mack and Will get their first superstition. And it's a joint superstition, because of course it is.

“I want to do a breathing treatment before I send you home.”
Will nodded and took a few more long sips of his water while Kyle set up the nebulizer. He handed Will the plastic mask and he rested it over his nose and mouth. Will let the familiar feeling of the medicine work its way through his body and into his lungs. Will hoped these minor issues didn't turn into him missing games or his spot on the team being put in jeopardy.
And Will definitely didn’t want his new teammates finding out about his condition…because once the information was out in the open, people treated him differently and he had to work ten times as hard on the ice just to prove that he was a good player.
And Will knew he was a good player and that he belonged on the San Jose Sharks. He just hoped his lungs could keep up with the high expectations he had for himself.
OR
Will has some serious lung issues but he doesn't want any of his teammates to know...especially Mack. But when he faces a major infection, it becomes harder to hide the illness from his best friend.

Summary
Will knows Mack isn’t trying to hurt him.
But somewhere between rookie year, late-night hotel rooms, and becoming inseparable in San Jose, their “casual” thing stopped feeling casual to Will a long time ago. Mack still kisses girls at parties after spending the entire day begging Will to come over. Still looks at him like he’s the center of his universe without realizing what that does to him.
Back in Boston for Marathon Monday, old friendships resurface, old feelings crack open, and Will starts realizing how much of himself he’s quietly handed over to one person.
Or: Will Smith is disastrously in love with Macklin Celebrini, Ryan Leonard wants his best friend/past hookup back, and it’s a giant mess of feelings all around.
