Summary
He doesn’t know how he does it, but Richie clears the space between them in a millisecond, his camera thrown to the side as he lunges forward to grab Max’s outstretched arm. Both hands clasp around his forearm and he digs his nails into the sleeve of the Letterman before gravity does its thing and pulls him to the floor, but luckily not through it. All of the air is knocked out of his lungs and he’s left laying flat on his stomach, wheezing, looking over the edge of the hole at Max Jagerman’s terrified face as he dangles precariously above the second floor that would certainly break if he landed on it.
