Summary
Severus knew that Lucius was just deluding himself. Voldemort was never going to take on a poverty-stricken half-blood just because he had some talent for Potions.
And, more to the point, Severus simply had no inclination to join, regardless of Lucius’ preposterous claim that Voldemort cared less about blood purity than was widely believed.

Summary
Sirius wailed, tears falling onto James’ cold skin as he held him. The only thing that made him pause was the shrill cry of a baby inside the room next door. Sirius propped James up against the wall, touched his face one more time, and swiftly ducked into the room.
Lily was dead. Harry was not.
...
Or, a cannon-adjacent fic where Sirius, Severus, and Remus try to get over their differences to protect Harry from his only living family. They move in next door and try to play a nice group of muggle roommates. Tensions rise; will they fight to the death, or will past hatred turn into something else? I don't know yet, so we'll see where it goes! -

Summary
“Harry Potter,” Dumbledore whispered.
With that, five students collapsed, banging their head against the table with a loud clatter. Screams rang across the room as Madam Pomfrey was forced to examine the unconscious students.
Those who collapsed?
Hermione Granger, Neville Longbottom, Draco Malfoy, Luna Lovegood and Harry Potter.
———————————————————
Harry discovers that he’s back in the past, stuck in his 15 year old body to be exact.
Now he was to find his mate and save the world from a gruesome fate that he and his companions had glimpsed from the future.
But what if it wasn’t that easy? Especially if his mate is a cynical, cold-hearted dark lord and his enemy is the man he considered his family.

Summary
Everyone knew Severus' future. Everyone knew he'd become a death eater, maybe get his mastery in potions and eventually die at his master's hand. But what if they didn't know Severus as well as they thought they did? Rather than conform to the role people expected him to play, Severus takes action. During 6th year he leaves Hogwarts, joining an apprenticeship overseas that guarantees not only a future but his own happiness.
Meanwhile the Marauders (minus Peter) are left regretting what can never be. They each had a secret, something none of them were willing to admit. Only now it's too late.
But what happens when Severus re-emerges during the war? Not a death eater, not a teacher even. But a strong, independent and most importantly a free man. How will the marauders react?
