Summary
They have not spoken in four years. It should feel the same, and it does, but all Dazai feels is cold, cold, cold. How could they ever behave like strangers? After that, all of that, everything between them, did that actually happen to someone else, like Dazai’s suspected for years?
He lies that he burned the coat. He still has it, shame buried in his dorm closet, probably still stained with the blood and tears from when he couldn’t commit to the soak of gasoline. Mori still has his virginity, so it’s only fair. Trinkets of another lifetime.
