This startles Elphaba so much that she looks up from her book. There's no twitch in Galinda's lips; she's gazing at Elphaba with uncomfortable sincerity. Elphaba glares back.
“You'll see,” Galinda promises, her ineffable cheer returning. "I'm irresistible."
Elphaba realizes the black hat is a prank before Galinda has the chance to make it up to her at the Ozdust, producing the most one-sided best friendship in Shiz history.
