Summary
Mike and Will settled into their New York high-rise apartment. The city was loud and jarring for two small-town college kids, but they made do. The noise of Hawkins's gossip was replaced by the disgruntled yells of jaywalkers.
Finally, they had found peace. They had each other, and that was what mattered.
With every morning tangled under the same sheets, Mike felt a strange feeling stirring in his chest. It fluttered with every kiss he pressed to Will's forehead and cheek. Any appreciative gesture they traded back and forth sprang that same strange, peculiar feeling to life.
It was a simple, unspoken thing that always passed between them that Mike couldn't quite name...

Summary
But it wasn’t a monster that came out of the trees. It was a person. A boy.
Mike froze.
Then he was spotted, and the boy stopped in his tracks; with skillful movements, he quickly slung the rifle off his shoulder and pointed it at Mike’s chest. Mike raised his hands while trying to keep most of his weight on his left leg.
“Whoa. Hey,” Mike said, his eyes wide as he stared at the tip of the rifle. “Just hold on. I’m not—I’m not going to hurt you.”
Or: A crawl gone wrong left Mike stranded in the Upside Down. Hurt and alone, Mike stumbles upon someone everyone told him was dead.

Such a beautiful Never Found AU. Will is so cute with his sticky fingers and Mike's love is something so good. I love that their healing journey was given a space to be told too.🥺

Summary
It’s time for the party to head off to college, from Hawkins, Indiana all the way in sunny California!
What was supposed to be a 3-day road trip turns into spontaneous, last minute adventures that end up taking them off the road and delaying college life. Between shared motel beds, a dive into possible world-ending powers, and embarrassing childhood memories, all ideas of “platonic friendship” between Mike and Will are slowly being dismantled.
The lifelong crush Will Byers tried to keep buried is beginning to catch up with him as Mike Wheeler grows bolder and bolder with testing the bounds of their relationship, despite his pathological struggle to deal with his feelings…
Or, Mike and Will’s feelings for each other are building faster than they can keep up and things start getting a little… fluffy, angsty, and super smutty.

Summary
Mike is waiting for Will in the basement, a look of suspicious, nervous excitement on his face. He cleared the table and laid out upon it are two card games.
"Now, I know you’ll resist," Mike blurts out, stepping toward him. "But I think this will be good. For both of us! For when we... you know,” Mike trails off, “When we get partners.”
Will scoffs, stepping closer to inspect the titles.
Spill or Sip and Truth, Dare, or Strip.
Or: Mike suggests a spicy card game to help Will loosen up before college. It works a little too well, and suddenly they’re gambling with unresolved feelings, and clothes, that were meant to stay in place.

The premise is thrilling, yes, but the romance is top notch too—handled very beautifully.
Mike as a writer is definitely writer-ing!

Summary
He wished—God, he wished—that Mike was looking at him because he still cared. Because he missed him. Because he still saw him the way Will saw Mike every time he drifted too close. But Will had forfeited the right to want that. El was his sister. Mike was…Mike. And Will’s longing had always felt like a betrayal, a quiet, awful selfishness.
***
Mike had lost track of how many times he’d muttered Where the hell is he now? in the last thirty-six hours. It had become a refrain, a pulse, a constant grinding irritation in the back of his skull—not at Will, never at Will, but at the universe for apparently conspiring to pull Will in six different directions until there was nothing left of him.
....
“You’ve been through worse,” Will had said, and Mike had almost snapped at him right then. Worse didn’t matter. Comfort didn’t matter. Mike didn’t need the bed. Will did. Will needed sleep, warmth, a pillow, someone physically forcing him horizontal—
And instead Will got…this. A cold spot on the floor and the stupid conviction that he didn’t deserve more.Bookmarked by auniversereader
