How could I get so lucky?
I thought to myself as I took in the scene before me. Our room, though greyscale and sophisticated, felt cozy and warm. My wife lay beside me, her arm clinging onto my black silk cladden waist.
I smile softly as I see her sleepy face, void of any discomfort laying on the pillow. My heart flutters as I see what lays between us - our four year old daughter, Amara.
She has her mother’s big, bewitching eyes and my fair complexion. She snuggles further into Sam’s chest, and Sam unconsciously holds her close in those protective arms of hers. I feel the lack of her touch instantly and wince, how does she have that effect on me? We’ve been married for 6 years now, and I still feel for her as much as I did when our relationship started to bloom at Diversity.
I contemplate between making us breakfast or getting into the snugglefest happening beside me. I settle on the former and start to make my way out of our bed...
