Summary
The brunette pulled a little half-smile and let the tension build for a while before speaking. “Tell me. How’d you get him in such good shape so fast?”
“I… what?” Steve asked, caught off guard.
“If fucking him was enough, I could’ve kept him just fine.” Things clicked into place for Steve and his stomach dropped. Rumlow clocked his realization and laughed in his face. “Seriously, he’s damn near good as new. I should be thanking you, really.” Steve lunged for Rumlow, but the cuffs on his wrists held fast and all he managed to do was rattle the table loudly. Rumlow didn't blink, just kept smirking. “You know that crazy rush you got, the first time he got you off?” he goaded. “Well the guy I’m working for says he knows how to make something ten times better.” His smile grew wider. “Apparently the process is a little… unsustainable, but we’re not really playing for keeps if you know what I’m saying.” He finally leaned back so Steve could take in his easy, unbothered air. “Little monster's caused an awful lot of trouble, but our boy will be useful yet.”

Summary
“Brock gets back today, actually.” Steve’s heart skipped a beat before thudding harder in his chest. Sitwell definitely caught the way his eyes widened against his will. “He’s not coming back alone or empty handed, either.” The uniformed man continued before pausing again, perhaps waiting for a response. Steve kept his mouth shut tight, teeth grinding. “I hear our special friend is looking good these days, too. You got some meat back on his bones. How long do you think he’ll last with Brock this time around?”
Steve didn’t take the bait, just stood in his handcuffs, fuming silently with impotent rage. If he didn’t get out of this, would Bucky come looking? Would Steve be the reason he walked right back into Sitwell's grasp, and therefore Rumlow's? For that matter, would anyone even be able to find his body?
“How will he hold up without you to hide behind?” Sitwell wheedled, ambling back a little closer. Steve bit the insides of both cheeks as the other man grinned with satisfaction. “How long before Brock dumps him on the side of the road like the gutter scum he is? Just another dead hooker for some trucker to find. Like so much roadkill.”

Summary
Bucky was otherworldly, lips reddened and swollen from kissing him, hair mussed and face flushed. He was painfully beautiful as he smiled down at Steve, hand braced comfortably against his chest. It made Steve want, and fiercely so.
He moved to grip Bucky’s thighs tightly while he breathed slow and steady, trying to calm himself down. Steve had always been a ‘full steam ahead’ type of guy, and right now his lizard brain wanted to take, to taste, to feel up and use and revel in and … and plenty of things he needed to think twice about.

Summary
As an artist who liked sketching the human form and features, he’d met a lot of people that struck him as beautiful, including plenty of men. Yet never once had he clocked a craving to touch them, didn’t imagine himself in bed with them. At least, not that he’d noticed. And he would notice something like that, right?
Steve found himself wandering the chapel building, hands in the pockets of his slacks, thinking hard. So maybe he could see himself having something more with Bucky, but… but that would make him... queer? Which, Steve didn't have anything against being queer, but why was it JUST NOW coming up for the first time in his life? He’d never had cause to examine his sexuality, it had always been easy. Straight forward. As in straight.
He looked around himself and realized he’d drifted into his office. He locked the door out of sheer nervousness and began pacing as an entirely new, entirely dreadful idea struck him. He tried not to think it, he didn’t want to, but he couldn’t help himself from wondering if this was all just that hokey spiritual bond thing Bucky had explained. What if it was just Bucky’s natural magic messing with his poor simple human brain?
Fuck he was bad at feelings.

Summary
Incubus… a demon of lust. Steve fought the urge to roll his eyes- not at Bucky, but at the brutish reactions he’d obviously come to expect. Demon indeed. “Bucky, if you sought refuge in a chapel in hopes of healing, do you really believe you’re bad?”
He pulled his hand from Steve’s to swipe angrily at the wetness in his eyes. “I didn’t used to think that I was… I don’t know, something evil. I never used to tolerate any of that bullshit.” He pulled a face. “I didn’t… but…” something seemed to lodge in Bucky’s throat and he mouthed silently for a few seconds. When he spoke again, his voice was again reduced to a hoarse whisper. “If he wasn’t right about what I am, then how come it worked exactly how he wanted it to?" He blinked and fat twin tears trailed down onto his cheeks before he brushed them away. “If he wasn’t right about what I am, how come he was able to do this to me?”

Summary
In 1995, Umberto Eco — Italian novelist, semiotician, and childhood survivor of Italian fascism — published "Ur-Fascism," identifying fourteen features common to fascist ideology across its historical variations. He did not write it about Tony Stark. He did not need to.
This meta applies Eco's framework to Tony Stark's ideology as depicted across the MCU — from "a bigger stick" in Iron Man to "a suit of armor around the world" in Age of Ultron to EDITH in Far From Home.
It examines the prima nocta joke, the treatment of Wanda Maximoff as a Weapon of Mass Destruction, the Lagos witch hunt, and the moment Tony Stark's "peace through superior firepower" philosophy is placed in direct dialogue with HYDRA's founding principles.
It asks what we call a man who believes security requires the pre-emptive elimination of threats, that his judgment supersedes collective decision-making, and that acceptable casualties are simply the cost of his version of order.Eco had a word for it.
Alternative title: "He Wanted to Win the War Before It Starts" — Which Is Also What HYDRA Said.

Summary
“I wrote you a letter.” Bucky looked down and carefully folded the piece of paper. He got to his feet and offered it to Steve.
His brow furrowed. “What is this?”
“It’s the letter,” he explained.
Steve blinked. “You remembered an entire letter you wrote at basic?”
He nodded.
Steve looked down at the piece of paper and then back up at him.
“I think I kept it for a while,” he explained. “Must have reread it a lot, or something. I don’t know.”
Steve’s eyes started to mist. “You wrote me a letter.”
“I wrote you a letter.”

They LOOOOOVE each other. Angsty, intense, the type of codependency that can squeeze the most out of life. More vibes than smut but the smut is good.

Summary
“You know Barnes is going to kill me if you die in the jet.”
“I’m not going to die, Clint.” Steve wiped a hand across his face, noting the tremor. “I just need ta’ get home.”
Clint didn’t look convinced, far from it in fact, but he pulled it together enough to get them home. Standard gas protocol left Steve shipped off to medical while Clint and the jet went through detox. Despite them knowing exactly what the gas was made of, what the purpose was. He’d helped write the handbook, and his life partner was the primary reason an isolation period was mandatory, but that didn’t mean he had to be happy about it.
And he was very not happy about it. -
