Summary
Bowser's kingdom had been destroyed.
All of the years he'd spent tormenting the Mushroom Kingdom and their Princess had cost him greatly. It'd been a beautifully calculated attack that had left him without a castle, without his troops, and without his crown.
He was no longer King of the Koopas, and there was no such thing as the Darklands. It had all been taken over by Peach. She'd connected the two lands and her people had inhabited it, pushing the Koopas further and further out. The ones who stayed tried to make an honest living, but how could a former king ever conform to that?
He couldn't.
Somehow, some way, he'd make her pay.
. . . .
He ran his tongue across his teeth and attempted to get up, but the pain he was in immobilized him. All he could do was grit his teeth and await his fate. He'd lost. He knew what came next and while that was a risk he'd taken, knowing death was a few minutes if not seconds away was terrifying.Not being able to fight back or flee, he closed his eyes. Maybe if he accepted it, he could leave this world with a shred of dignity intact.
"You fought beautifully,"
Wait, he knew that voice.
"Let's go."

He felt bile rise up in the back of his throat. He'd been saved by an obsessed lunatic who thought he was pretty? He ran a hand through his hair. How was his life just seemingly getting worse? This isn't what he wanted! He would've actually preferred to be in hell now over this. "Let me go, you psychopath!"
A claw reached out and poked under his chin. Not cutting or stabbing into the flesh, merely resting against the soft skin. "Let's make a deal."
"A deal?"
"Stay here. Don't fight me on anything and simply enjoy yourself. Don't think too much in to things. If you're still not happy and wish to leave, I'll allow it."
"S-stay here with you?"
"Yes."
"What if I say no?"
"Then the deal is void and you stay here indefinitely."

In which Bill Cipher is not a powerful nightmare realm demon, but instead a demon of a different kind— a succubus*. Ford (Ever the opportunist) strikes a deal with Bill, one in which he will let the demon feed off him as long as he leaves the townsfolk alone.
Together they will navigate through the mess they both are, trying to deal with their own emotions and acknowledging their flawed attitudes.
