Summary
Objectively speaking, men throwing themselves at Emily Prentiss made perfect logical sense.
It also made JJ want to commit acts of violence. For completely professional reasons. Obviously.
The fact that JJ could identify Emily's footsteps in the bullpen without looking up; could gauge her mood from the particular cadence of her voice; had memorized the exact shade of her eyes in different lighting…all of that was just observational. An occupational hazard. Definitely not the behavior of someone who was deeply, problematically and catastrophically in love with her new teammate.

Summary
“I thought I’d washed everything of his,” JJ says as Emily places another shirt in the Will pile. “But I keep finding them—“ Her words choke off.
Emily hears, and places a gentle hand on her knee. It’s only there for a moment, but JJ feels it, strong and warm, like she hasn't really felt anything else in the last few weeks. Emily says nothing, because she knows there isn’t anything that will make it better, but she squeezes before letting go. It rips JJ’s throat, the quiet understanding and acceptance, but she holds in the tears; she needs to be together while her boys aren’t, to show everyone that she’s okay.
Emily doesn’t leave until the clothes are put away, the dishwasher is running, and she’s wiped down every surface in the shared bathroom upstairs. She pauses by the door, reaching out to grip JJ’s wrist for a moment. “Back soon,” she says, eyes sympathetic, mouth faintly curved. “See you then.”
After Emily’s gone, and she’s alone again, JJ weeps.
OR
JJ, on leave from the BAU after Will's death, just wants to be alone, and Emily... well, Emily doesn't know how to do anything but show up.

Summary
Michael is okay. Kids are resilient and even with Henry off to college, he’s got no shortage of male role models to choose from. Luke is his favourite, which JJ is pretty sure is only because Luke is Aunty Penelope’s favourite and Michael worships the ground she walks on. So, Michael has Luke and Penelope, Henry has Spence, and JJ has all of them and none of them. Most days it feels like she’s on her own.
“That’s not totally true though,” Dr. Ochoa says. “You have Emily.”

Summary
In the wake of Will’s death, JJ has everyone in her corner… except her oldest friend. Despite their THC-laced Cheetos night and the impassioned confession “it gives me you,” Emily is more distant than ever.
Meanwhile, Emily is holding everyone at arm’s length… especially the woman she loves. Two decades of suppressed feelings take a backseat to dismantling BAUgate for good and giving JJ space to grieve.
In our take on Season 18 of Criminal Minds Evolution (that will lack so much plot at times because we want these two idiots to finally be together), will JJ and Emily find their way home to each other? Or are they destined to dance around and around, never being brave enough to admit their feelings or act on them?
