It's a tad too quiet in the Curatorium of Secrets, and Nefer is once again all alone after the drama in Nod-Krai. In the back of her mind, she found the company during trying times quiet comforting, but she decided to drown these dangerous thoughts out with alcohol beneath the walls she spent so long building up. One night of indulgence wouldn't hurt, right?
She wasn't new to the drinking game, and could present herself as if she were perfectly sober with a calm smirk... Save for the fact that her tongue becomes too slippery for her own good. Too honest, might one say when she was beyond her intoxication levels.
And a certain moonchanter would unfortunately be there to witness such a spectacle and secretly fulfill her desires... But not without the stakes rising due to secrecy.

A female voice with a very distinct American accent. The voice sounded exhausted, parched, low, but strong.
"If you're talking to me, you're going to have to speak English sweetheart"
Caitlyn's eyes widened as she looked up from dressing the wound and cerulean eyes found the greyest ones she had ever seen, sending a rush through her that she was unfamiliar with.
Then, Caitlyn spoke.
English this time, laced with a light French accent.
"I told you your wound would need to be stitched up when you were to wake" she simply informed her, ignoring how heart her started pounding yet again.

“Let me stop you right there,” is how Hen cuts Eddie off.
“What? Is it not genetic?”
“It might be, I’m not all that familiar with it,” says Hen, shrugging. “But that’s not really relevant, since… Well, how do I put this? Christopher is not biologically related to Buck.” A pause. “Or did you two morons forget that, what, with your questionable codependency?”
Eddie simply stares at her, as his brain short-circuits. Because—
Um, yeah, they did.

OR Buck gets diagnosed with ADHD, Eddie schedules an assessment for Christopher, and neither of them realize that there’s not much to worry about since Buck isn’t related to him. Which, uh, might’ve slipped both their minds. -

Bit by bit, Buck stopped.
It began with the little things. First, he stopped checking his phone when he woke up. He used to do it everyday. He’d check for notifications on Chimney’s instagram, or maybe a new message from the 118 group chat. It wasn’t that anyone other than him texted at one in the morning, but sometimes he’d sleep past one of Cap’s old-timey GIFs or whatever.
Sometimes, Athena would text and greet him good morning. And a few weeks into knowing him, Chris would send a morning message begging for help, normally because Eddie was trying to make pancakes again.
So, with everything going on, Buck always made it a point that the moment his eyes opened, he would check his phone.
Until the first week after the lawsuit, and for the seventh day in a row, there wasn’t anything there except a pitfall in Buck’s stomach.
Nothing.
Never.
Not even a quick ‘hello’.
So, Buck ceased checking his phone. After all, why did he even need to?

Summary
Eddie has to laugh at this point, because this isn't just about Tommy completely disregarding the general audience commentary on how harmful Gardner's books are. This is about him not caring about Buck's interests even a tiny bit.
Eddie would be lying if he said he's a hundred percent into everything Buck tells him, but he has never—not once—not listened to what he has to say.
Setting down his beer and turning towards Tommy, Eddie glares, his mouth twitching. "Doesn't take away the fact that he's still very much openly hating on women for most of them."
A beat of silence, "I take it you've read him, then."
There is a taunting tone in his voice that Eddie can't quite ignore. He forces himself to smile, breathes in through the nose, "Wasn't interested in reading him after Buck explained in painful detail why I shouldn't."

Because if Buck is there, everyone will be safe. The fun day ends in near disaster and Christopher is left feeling angry that his Buck is as human as everyone else.
