As he looks longer at the inexplicable doorframe, a sense of unreality comes over Reki. He knows the doorframe is real because he's real; he knows he's real because Langa is, because he can touch Langa—his fingers curl into Langa's shirt now to prove it. Even when he lets go, one fingertip grazing over Langa's arm as Langa turns to him, Reki has memorized the reality of the worn softness of Langa's shirt, the warmth of his skin.
