Summary
Being told to shut up always hurt. More than he suspected it should. Soap once had drunkenly apologized to Gaz for being such a loudmouth, and when Gaz insisted that everyone liked his friendly chattiness, Soap had literally flopped over him in relief and confessed that being told to shut up was like being kicked. No other insult or fight had the same effect on him.
Except, perhaps, being called useless.

Summary
“I think that’s enough Soap for one day.”
Soap didn’t think that the others realized that his heart had just stopped working.
A chest, a wit, murmured into a glass of half-drunk Whiskey by Ghost, a chuckling Gaz nearby who gave Ghost a pat on the shoulder. Price huffed before taking a sip from his beer, and Soap remained quiet, his body numb, his head foggy, his heart still.
“He’s your Lieutenant. That contract’s unreturnable.”
Price crooked a smile at Ghost, who let out a heavy breath. Gaz took a sip from his bottle, chuckling over it. “Should have read the fine print, Ghost.”
Ghost shrugged. “Next time I’ll do.”Another version of the shut-up-trope. Lots of angst and hurt!Soap with a happy ending.

Summary
“God may forgive you for being gay, but no one is going to forgive you for that haircut,” Gaz laughed as he pointed at Soap. The other two joined in on the laughter soon after. Soap rubbed the back of his neck subconsciously, and he let out an uncomfortable laugh.
“Hah, there’s nothing wrong with my amazing hair,” he pretended to do a hair flip, trying his best not to let Gaz’s joke get to him. He felt like the joke sobered him up some, leading him to focus more on his newfound insecurity instead of the glass of Scotch in his hand.
“Yeah, Johnny. You look like a leftover reject from a late 2000s death metal band,” Ghost added with a chuckle.--
Or Soap doesn't know how to take a joke and sacrifices the iconic mohawk :(

Summary
Soap makes a choked off noise of pure, unadulterated panic, and then he’s floating, drifting far away as his ears ring from the sound of multiple bombs going off.
When he comes to, he only gets to be happy that he’s somehow still alive for a moment, because everything hits him all at once. Pain explodes from every single part of him he can feel, and he wants to scream. He doesn’t, instead trying to take a deep breath to ground himself, but there’s rubble on top of him that’s unyielding, restricting his every breath.
His breath catches in his throat; focus, MacTavish. Assess your situation before you start panicking.
or, Soap gets trapped under the rubble of a collapsed building, and makes the (stupid) executive decision to omit that piece of information to the rest of 141. No one is happy about this when they find out.
