He finds out as the lights in his room flicker on, yellow lamp light illuminating a pair of long, pale legs trailing up to a green, softly shining tail, and a familiar head hiding behind the coiled scales. Someone has taken the time to wind a large red ribbon around and through the legs, tied with a big bow right where—and Caelus realizes why Himeko told him to have fun.
“Happy birthday to me,” Caelus whispers, awed. He takes one step, then another, until he’s standing at the foot of the bed, drinking in the lithe sweep of Dan Heng’s back, the red criss-crossing his skin. “So you’re my present?”

Dabi looks at Hawks batting his lashes, sitting on the couch in his hideous Gucci sweater. Christ, Dabi can’t stop looking at it. It’s a point of public safety that Hawks has a stylist for when he actually needs to leave the house. That sweater could cause car crashes. “I guarantee that won’t be an issue.”
Hawks needs to come out, Dabi needs to promote his debut album, and they make an awful mess of this fake relationship thing.
