Shen Jiu just wanted to go for a pleasant work around his Qing Jing Peak. Truly, that's all he wanted to do in the moment; take a walk around his bamboo forest (yes, his bamboo forest because he earned it goddammit!) as a break, before he goes back to whatever paperwork he had yet to finish. What he didn't want to do was stumble upon a newborn babe grown straight from a stalk of bamboo.
