“I want to be the next Rupert Campbell-Black,” Taggie said, quiet but unflinching, blue eyes fixed on him like a challenge.

Rupert’s smile was slow, razor–thin. “Be careful with that, sweetheart. You don’t know what it takes to build a monster.”

or: what happens when the bored, sharp-edged golden boy of British showjumping finds a copper-haired teenager riding in his woods and decides to make her his star pupil—only to end up far too invested, far too entangled, and absolutely nowhere near professional boundaries.

    Summary

Shane Hollander is Britain's most promising Quidditch Talent. Already being fought for by Europe's biggest teams despite it not even being his Rookie year yet.
Shane always has a plan, and if all had gone as he’d intended, his final year at Hogwarts would be spent on a broom winning match after match in front of the scouts before finally having his pick of teams. To his horror, his plans are then thrown into utter disarray when Hogwarts is chosen to host the most dangerous magical competition known amongst the three great wizarding schools: The Triwizard tournament.
Shane is gutted as his hopes for winning the Quidditch cup are thrown out the window, but it doesn't take long for him to realise that this time he might be able to aim for something different—something bigger. Maybe even the most prestigious title a Graduate could hold—Triwizard Champion.

Shane Hollander has always been destined to Win. That is until Drumstrang's prospect Ilya Rozanov, the only man ever to best him, steps into his path. Creating yet another dangerous task Shane would have to get past to win.

And oh, how Shane hates him for it.

What if Grace and Leon were interrogated together instead of being sepearated at the Care Centre?

    "Why are you here?"

Eyes sweeping methodically around the room, he notices the first thing that makes his heart sink. A wheeled metal table with medical instruments laid upon it, which in his experience is usually a bad sign.

    "Is it for me?"

The second thing he notices is Grace.

    "Or for her?"

Except for the itch under his skin every time he goes outside, and the tightness in his chest when he goes online, and the fact that he can’t fucking sleep.

But it's fine. He's fine. Really.

A Foreword by the Scholar Zuyen:

It has been a long upheld truth of our great nation that after the twin falls of the disgraced Fire Lord Ozai and Princess Azula, and their subsequent imprisonments, neither of the two ever regained contact with our well-respected Fire Lord Zuko. While Fire Lord Zuko ensured the humane holding conditions of his estranged father and sister immediately after his ascension to the throne, he reportedly never saw a need to continue communications with them. Before writing this book, my answer to such an obvious statement would have been, "Blasting flames—well of course he didn't!" Now, though, my answer would be quite different. But best leave that til later.

Fire Lord Zuko, when questioned about such matters, only ever gave one answer in response, saying: “A true leader has no need for snakes and scoundrels. Dragons are far superior.”

Given his far more professional reply, it is no wonder that he was the fire lord and I am a less-than-humble scholar.
