"Can Chuuya drive me there?" Dazai asked, his voice light. It was almost like the snowflakes falling outside Chuuya's window. Chuuya clicked his tongue and pulled his legs closer to his chest, a habit he's had for a while. He rested his chin on his knees, head slightly turned to face Dazai.
"My ass. I'm not getting stuck in this blizzard."
"With me?"
"Especially with you."

"Shut up," Antinous interrupted Telemachus' ranting with a simple, breathless phrase. "This looks sick. Ya' should've picked drawing or something instead of what, law?"
Telemachus giggled. He was glad. Antinous usually didn't show affection through words, so that simple compliment was more than enough. "It's art. I guess it's too late to pick something else now."
"Yeah. Let's kiss."
"Wha--?"
Antinous then proceeds to slam Telemachus onto the bed, desperately kissing him like he's going to run off any second. Telemachus wasn't complaining, he enjoyed it just as much.

Summary
Zuko wakes up the first time it happens to the smell of burning flesh. He at first thinks it’s just a lingering memory, the vestiges of a nightmare he’s had many times, but then he hears the shouts and clanging of metal that accompanies it.
The telltale signs of a fight, right outside his door.
So of course he does the sensible thing and rushes toward the commotion without a second thought, still in his loose bedclothes and bleary-eyed from sleep. He practically falls out of the door, stumbling right into the middle of both the hall and the battle waging within it.
At this point, Zuko's no stranger to attempts on his life. He can handle it.
Or five times Zuko's friends save him from an assassination attempt, and one time they're almost too late.

"It doesn't matter," Zuko said, his voice commanding, if not a bit squeaky. "I've never really celebrated my birthday, so it's not like I'm missing anything. Please, just pretend that this is a normal day."
Hopefully, they would forget all about his birthday.

Megumi had never seen Satoru cry before, but he’d been close a few times. His eyes had become watery with pride at Tsumiki’s school culture show the previous year, in which she’d landed the starring role. He’d blinked furiously and hidden his face when Megumi had gotten injured badly enough during training that he had to be rushed to Shoko and spent a few days under her care. He’d even sniffled a few times when Tsumiki had forced the two of them to see Frozen with her a few years prior.
But as Megumi stood, he heard sobs coming from the bedroom.
