prompt: “I’m afraid I’ve fallen in love with you.”
Eyes fluttering open, Ziva didn’t know what she was going to wake up to. She knew what she’d fallen asleep to, she remembered the gentle rocking and the whispered sweet nothings, the gentle moans and intertwined fingers. She remembered falling asleep in his arms, wrapped in his embrace — it felt like a fever dream, she couldn’t tell whether it was real or some figment of her imagination, and she feared the whole time she was gearing up to open her eyes that he would be gone, and she would have imagined it all.
But she woke, and she opened her eyes. And she opened it to his fingers gently running across her cheeks, caressing her softly. Her lips lifted into a soft smile.
“Good morning.”
“Good morning.”
