One moment, Sam and Dean were human, mortal.
The next, they’re being hit by case after case of good luck and Sam’s psychic powers were getting weird enough that Dean had been starting to hear voices in his head as well.
Their hunts have had a recent hundred percent success rate and the beers were tasting a little too sweet and refreshing.
It didn’t take long for them to realise that something was wrong.

It wasn’t supposed to be like this.
Things weren’t supposed to happen like this.
This was his technology and Aviva’s inventions. He knew them both intimately, despite their rivalry. They weren’t supposed to malfunction, nor had they ever failed this badly.
They were the Wild Kratts, annoying and meddling catch-phrase spewing brothers that constantly foiled his plans. They were good, nature loving tree-huggers who wouldn’t hurt a fly. They healed and saved, not hurt.
They weren’t supposed to hurt him badly enough to bleed.
They weren’t supposed to look at him with something akin to feral hunger in their eyes, his own blood dripping from their teeth and coating the fur of their suits; vivid scarlet against familiar blue and green. His Zach-bots lay broken and torn to shreds, steel and metal giving away under relentless claws and teeth as the brothers had dismantled them methodically and deliberately.
This was never supposed to happen.
He understood now, what it meant to be hunted.

Summary

“You-” Ygraine said, stepping up to point a finger in Uther’s face. “You are a liar and a murderer. The fact you think someone as sweet and caring as Vivienne is destined to marry you is a tragedy in itself, but if you expect me to hand over my brother’s rightful claim to Camelot’s throne-”
“My claim to Camelot’s throne,” Uther threw back, face growing more red as Arthur looked between his parents in utter bewilderment. Merlin didn’t blame him. He had envisioned Uther and Ygraine’s love story to be more… well, less based in war and battles.
Ygraine’s eyes narrowed as she grabbed a goblet of wine and threw it in Uther’s face. A few of the guards shifted, but Uther only raised a hand to pause them, spitting out the wine with furious eyes.
“You,” Ygraine said coldly. “Are unworthy to sit upon a stool, let alone a throne.”
From a few feet away, Balinor scoffed as he sipped from his own goblet. “I kind of like having her as a hostage, Uther. She livens up the place.”

“For Christmas? I’ve got an uncle and a mother and a sister waiting for me at home, in case you hadn’t remembered, I’m not going home with you just because you’re a workaholic.”
“No, it’s. My mum might be under the impression that we’re a little bit married.”
In which Merlin gets conned into spending Christmas with Arthur's family and pretending to be his husband, because somehow this is his life.

Grace is seriously out of his depth here, but he does enjoy studying all the new alien life. Rocket is teaching Rocky, his new engineer buddy, all kinds of fun things. Quill and Mantis are glad to be back with their family (even if they are stuck on a deadly planet that's trying to kill them…).
