    Summary

Yes. Wilbur had to bite his tongue to keep the answer from spilling out of his mouth, because yes he wanted more. Of course he wanted more. He wanted to be more than the bastard prince. He wanted to be more than a mistake his mother made before she married Tommy’s father.

But that wasn’t the role he had been cast for in his life.

“It doesn’t matter,” Wilbur said instead. “When Tommy turns eighteen he’ll be crowned King, and I will be his advisor. He’ll be a good king, I’ll make sure of it.”

or, as the bastard prince of the planet of Eldingvegr, Wilbur has always known he was never meant for greatness. That was his younger brother's destiny. Wilbur's job was simply to try and make sure Tommy could fulfill that destiny.

That becomes decidedly more difficult when the brothers are betrayed, and are forced to flee their home planet. With the Essempi Empire being one of the largest imperial powers in the universe, the only place that can offer them refuge from Emperor Dream is Zephys IV—capital planet of the Antarctic Empire, ruled by the ruthless Emperor Philza.

    Summary

...Banhammer glances up as someone pushes aside the curtain divider, and the doctor known as Medkit walks over, looking as exhausted as ever with those gaunt cheekbones and heavy eyebags. He never not looks horrible; it’s like it is his specialty to look as close to death’s door as possible, and he’s damn good at it too.

“You look nice.” Banhammer chuffs the moment he gets, watching as Medkit looks over him and sprouts a disdained expression at whatever horrendous sight he must be seeing. “But no, seriously, how do people take you serious as a doc when ‘ya look like you were due for ‘yer funeral yesteryear? I wouldn’t even trust ‘ya if I din’t have any other choice.”

It’s a shame, how much of a party-pooper this doctor is – Medkit levels him with a listless look, entirely unamused at the attempt at conversation, and asks in a tone so uninterested, it stings Banhammer’s ego a bit. “Are there any wounds on your legs?”

And because Banhammer’s feeling extra petty as a result of the hurt all over his body, he tugs off his uniform shirt while muttering petulantly, “Well, isn’t that a good question, Doc? Why don’t ‘ya go and check fer ‘yer’self? Since ‘yer oh so professional and can’t have a decent conversation.”

    Summary

“Insanity,” he says, eyes flitting across the milky-white pages. “Nothing but insanity.” Mirage smiles and flips a page. The book opens to a charcoal drawing– a faceless void with a sharp grin, and streaks of black across the page in distressed lines without rhyme or reason. Inside the creature’s hands

    death blooms.

“I think it’s beautiful,” Mirage lets out a breathy voice, studying the art and running his gloved hands over the marks. “There’s always insanity somewhere inside the tortured artist.” He looks at Tommy with a soft honeyed gaze. “At the intersection of art and humanity, there is madness.”

    Summary

Tommy doesn't know what else to do. No matter what he does, his family seems to ignore him.

They're always busy, always choosing something else over him.

He decides that it's about time they give him some attention, even if that means forcing them to pay attention to him.

Or, more accurately, forcing the heroes Siren, The Angel (of death), and The Blood God to pay attention to him, through any means necessary.
    ---
Neglected Tommy becomes a villain, just to get the attention of his father and adopted brothers. Angst-heavy, with a lot of child neglect :)
VERY heavily influenced by "you were never my heroes (forget me not)" by aceofsun on ao3... they wrote a one-shot based off of a tumblr prompt, and I fell in love with the idea.
