    Violet eyes make their way back up to meet gold ones, peering at the taller girl through dark lashes.

    “Are you sure about that?” Sua drawls, tone bordering on challenging.

It’s similar to the way those Segyeins—the ones that Mother parades her in front of—look at her. Like they want to devour her. But unlike those times, it isn’t fear that causes Sua’s skin to prickle with goosebumps. And it isn’t fear that makes her bite her lip.

    It isn’t fear, but it’s close enough.

    Except this feeling sometimes feels more dangerous than fear.
