Laura missed Natasha.
That isn’t to say that she didn’t miss her husband- she did. She missed Clint with every bone in her body. The kids missed him too. She missed hearing his loud footsteps around the house (how the hell was he had ever succeeded as a spy, honestly, was beyond her), she missed waking up to the smell of him brewing coffee, she missed curling around him at night.
But Natasha- that was another story entirely. Nat was always like a ghost in the night, slipping out when she least expected. She wasn’t someone that Laura could be sure would even come back.
And that’s what hurt the most.

Natalia was supervised by an instructor she had never met before, who picked up the gun and showed her how to hold it, how to store it, how to aim it between a man’s eyes.
