Xilonen’s patterns shone like gold underneath the sun, her legs atop one another, stretched on the long couch. Half of the cushion lay under her chin, hugged by her millions of rings, and her ivory hair billowed around her shoulders like a halo of light.She’s majestic, Lisa thought, swirling the dregs of tea in her teacup. Like a lion basking under the sun.
A rumbling purr filled the room as Xilonen stirred in her sleep, nudging her head further into the cushion.
Well, maybe more like a big kitty.
Xilonen discovers a new nap spot in a faraway land—and a companion to enjoy it with.

“Where’s...”
Beidou trails off, stopping dead in her tracks as her gaze elevates. Sitting atop the giant, blooming sakura tree, is Itto. Filing his nails, his eyes slightly creased, with a calm expression on his face. His chest is covered with a black and gold robe, and his hair has been evidently combed back without any excess of gel forming it into spikes.
Even his horns and markings seem to be painted with more expertise.
She cautiously greets him. “Itto.”
Itto pauses, looking down at her with a gentle smile.
“Beidou. It’s been a while. You must have received my letter.”
Oh, no.
Something is terribly wrong.

During what Beidou wrongfully expects is another uneventful voyage back to Inazuma, she finds Kazuha and Itto with swapped personalities. She soon realizes a Kazuha that acts like Itto is somehow worse than anything she's ever encountered before.

For the most part, onis were able to merge into human society without a hitch.
