Ryland whimpered as Simon began rubbing his side. Every touch was electric. God, he was sensitive. He swallowed, throat clicking loudly. “Cultural exchange,” Grace answered.
“Yeah. Cultural exchange.” Simon chuckled, “Let’s do that. Let me show you how we make life.” He pulled Grace to him, chest to chest.

Because he’s rasping Avery’s full name, student ID, and telling strangers how “Left” is a horrible direction.
A.K.A: He’s alive, but not well. The boys learn what proper communication is as they journey through the stages of brain damage recovery (and the first step of that is acceptance, contrarily).

Oh, Avery.

It made sense for him to try and save Avery.
But it didn't make sense for Avery to try and sacrifice himself for a man he did not know.

Derek cannot save Avery, or deter him from leaving, nothing he says will work. Avery refuses to leave, he won't leave Derek to be nothing but a mere sacrifice. So, what happens when Avery decides to invoke only part of the spell?
Could the King hold power over both Derek and Avery? The ability for his total power to be stretched between the two men?
Could they find the will and the way to destroy this digital world, as well as the King and escape from it back into reality?Will they be able to defeat a God?
