Summary
Jos leaves Max at a gas station, because in his eyes, he will never be good enough, and Max was starting to see it too. Freezing and terrified, he calls Checo to come pick him up, who wants nothing more than to help, but knows it's going to be a difficult process and struggles to keep the kid calm and safe while trying to figure out the true horrors that Jos did to him.

Summary
Max didn't like getting his haircut ever since he was a child. It started with his dad just buzzing off all his hair, leaving him with barely a centimeter-long strands. It made Max look like a baby chicken, and the feeling of the machine on his scalp was always uncomfortable.

He'd stared at three exclamation marks for approximately six minutes before deciding that swimming is an exciting sport and exclamation marks convey excitement and Max is the kind of person who uses exclamation marks freely and without apparent anxiety, so three is probably fine.
