After the fight with Vecna, things are starting to look up as they start to head out - but then Will collapses, having been badly injured during the fight. Mike is forced to do CPR as he desperately tries to save the love of his life, and as he does it, he thinks about the past.

Summary
After the events of 'A Glimmer of Light Refusing to Fade,' Will, Mike, and the Party are all battle-worn, exhausted, and half-grown-up - not to mention ready for their NDA deals to carry them into an easy life of peace, luxury, and recovery.
...but, of course, that doesn't happen. Whether it's the Upside Down following them and haunting whatever city they live in the same as it haunted Hawkins or just trying to survive after what they have, it's never going to be easy.
(It's worth a shot anyway. And they'll be damned if they don't try.)

Billy Hargrove hit Mike just a little bit harder, Max woke up just a little bit later and Mike Wheeler had always had shitty luck. He gets drugged, hauled to Russia and jabbed with so many needles that he doesn’t know where he began and the needles ended.
But it’s not so bad (He’s lying, it fucking sucks) at least he has the boy in the bed next to his, and relatively regular mealtimes and-

Summary

When Mike comes to visit, he notices that something is off, but doesn’t know what’s wrong or how to help while his best friend feels so far away even though he's physically there. However, maybe Mike finds the answer after they are brought closer than ever after El is abducted by the government and they end up facing capture, interdimensional monsters, torture, the past, their own feelings, and attempting to prevent the apocalypse. Summary
For the past two years, Micheal Wheeler hasn't usually let himself feel things.
Obviously, he has feelings. He loves his friends, he likes El, he appreciates his family. But he’s been hiding that feeling for so long that he almost forgot it existed.

Continues immediately after the events of season 5 episode 7. Basically the finale, but written by someone who actually cares about queer representation. Mike did NOT deserve that absolute assassination and I WILL be doing him right.
In other words, a fix-it fic based on my last byler theory on my YouTube channel (@i.dontknowhowtodance, the period is IMPORTANT), in which we get a Mike-central finale where byler is canon. I do want to clarify I only watched the finale once and I refuse to watch it again so I might get some plot points wrong but you guys don't care anyway because no one likes the finale.
