The distraction works as Cyllene focuses on Barry’s questions. “Yes and no. Galaxy Team or Galaxy Expedition Team is the historic name of the organization that was the foundation of this city. However, recently, there has been a split. Team Galactic, despite their name, is separated from their origins. And I, Cyllene, am left with the scraps of what used to be.” She gestures to the building.

His thoughts wandered to the rest of his clan and what warmth that he had felt at thinking about Adaman fled from him. The rest of the Diamond Clan would probably be happy. Melli was never good enough for them. He had tried so hard to feel like he was worth something to them but even as a warden they would withhold any praise. They used to pity him, then they forgot about him and then they hated him. And now he was dying, and he still wouldn’t be great in their eyes.
There was a saying that a man should think of home in death, Melli knows that the point is that the thought of home would bring the dying man comfort…
It only made Melli feel bitter.

“Link?” There was just a hint of concern in her voice.
He turned on her with a glare. What now?! Only to feel worse when she flinched. He laid his ears back and whined an apology. He shouldn’t be mad at her. She was trying her best, too.
“I know. None of this is fair, but we can’t give up.” Midna surprised him by lifting his head into her hands, and her intense red eyes met his blue ones. “Because our enemies want us to fail, and we can’t make it easier for them by giving up. No matter what, they have to kill us first. It’s not the end until it’s the end.”

There's a beat of complete stillness, where Pico could practically see the gears turning in Boyfriend and Girlfriend's heads. Then, they move, Girlfriend putting a hand over her mouth and Boyfriend playing with his hair. Both of them avoid eye contact, as if Pico would explode if they looked at him incorrectly.
"So, what?" Pico gestured at the two incredulously. "Nothing about that?"

Pico's delicate way of life is interrupted by the sudden resurfacing of childhood trauma. As he tries to navigate these difficult feelings, Girlfriend decides to take the reigns of his recovery, completely disregarding what Pico may want and instead trying to get him "fixed" as quickly as possible. Takes place in an AU where Pico is hired to be Girlfriend's bodyguard after failing to kill Boyfriend, and where he has forgotten who Nene and Darnell are due to PTSD.

She led Keith to the couch now, situating herself between him and Pico as they still grumbled and complained about the situation. Rolling her eyes, she called her wings out- one of the rarer features she could make visible- folding them around both of her boys to pull them closer.
