Summary
In a village somewhere in Europe, Gerard Way, the son of nouveau riche business owners, is getting prepared for his arranged marriage, which will raise the social class of Gerard's parents and restore the wealth of his fiancé's penniless family. However, he has serious concerns about the marriage - understandable, since he hasn't even met his future husband yet. After the shy man ruins the wedding rehearsal, he flees and practices his wedding vows in the nearby forest, placing the wedding ring on a nearby upturned tree root.
The root turns out to be the finger of a murdered man named Frank in a tattered suit, who rises from the grave claiming that he is now Gerard's husband.
