Nathan is a good father. He taught Nathaniel his job, and Lola helped him with it. She was, so to speak, his second mother. Mary runs away with Nat at his age of 8. They have been on the run for almost 6 years. Mary is going completely insane with paranoia. Nathan and Ichiro's men tried to find them to save Nathaniel. He was too much like his father, whom Mary hated (it was a marriage of convenience). At first, she just beat him, drowned him, but then she found better torture.
