    It's New Years' Eve and Shane takes a Vodka-induced spiral through a level of jealousy he didn't know existed.

    He looked over the rim of his glass, eyes immediately landing on Ilya’s laughing face on the other side of the club near the bar. He had his arm slung over Svetlana’s shoulders, her neck comfortably at the bend of his elbow. Shane’s teeth ground together when Ilya used the crook of his arm to pull Svetlana closer, Ilya's head tipping down to place his ear near her mouth.

    It was Ilya’s turn to lean in to speak in Svetlana’s ear, a grin spreading over Svetlana’s gorgeous face as she listened to his words. 

    Shane could vividly imagine what Ilya’s voice would sound like at this point. It would be raspy and rough, like a rumble. He’d heard him sound like that a thousand times and Shane would never be sick of it. It made his chest tight, his heart hammering to think about the way Ilya’s soft lips would brush along his ear. How his tongue would lick up the shell before nipping at the spot under Shane’s ear that made him moan.

    But he wasn’t doing any of that. He was talking to Svetlana. His friend.

    Club: Too much vodka in New Years Eve makes Shane spiral in jealousy. Ilya panics that Shane can't be found for midnights kiss.
    They figure it out and come out better afterwards. Perfect HEA epilogue.

    Shane Hollander’s hopes for the NHL were ripped from him by an ACL tear and replaced with doctor prescribed opioids at age 18. Four years later, hockey is a distant memory and his days consist of strange men and chasing a feeling drugs can never seem to provide anymore.

    Ilya Rozanov’s family returned home to Russia when his father’s mental state deteriorated and the government wasted no time snatching back his work visa. Ilya stayed behind in that godforsaken city to do the only thing he had ever been able to support his family doing: sell dope.

    Ilya sees a lot of sad people. Shane sees a lot of horny men. Neither of them are prepared for what they see in each other, and what it means for the boxes they’ve allowed themselves to be put into.

    Torn ACL brings Shane in oxy dependence what evolves to full drug addiction. We find him doing dates and buying coke to smoke from Ilya. Ilya is illegal and survives as he can. They both find each other and are good, then hard, then better. HEA

    A hard read what shows authors personal experience and makes it feel at moments a bit too real. Beautifully written and definitely a fic what will make one think and maybe also to learn some humility and acceptance.

    Ilya's heart stuttered at the last clip. A video of hands toasting beer bottles. The camera rose and panned the hotel bar, swinging to Harris’s boyfriend and…Shane Hollander. Shane Hollander, in the same light blue shirt that Ilya had seen dashing around a street corner a few hours ago. Shane Hollander, a little rumpled, adorably jet-lagged, drinking at a hotel bar that Harris had conveniently tagged. Ilya knew, he just knew what he'd find when he clicked on the location. The back of his neck was buzzing, a bizarre intuition thrumming in him.

    The location opened, and Ilya had to bite back a laugh. Shane Hollander was in Hanoi, only a few minutes away from him.

    AU Shane produces a travel show hosted by Rose. When the crew touches down in Hanoi, they cross paths with a pair of travel influencers that Shane would prefer to never see again.
