“Jesus Christ, I forgot Parrish was living with the Snake,” Blue interjects.
“Snake?” Adam asks.
“Yes, Snake. Obviously.”
“Jane, don’t be mean,” Gansey scolds.
“I’m not being mean, it’s his nickname. He calls me Maggot, I call him Snake. They’re our terms of endearment.”
“Those are some very unorthodox terms of endearment,” Adam points out.
“You’ve only known him for a day,” Blue says. “After a month you can let me know whether or not you agree with the nickname.”

And after 2 or 6 beers fighting with Kavinsky was fun, and racing him sounded like more fun. He was high on adrenaline and moving so fast he didn’t see the warning signs.

Adam hadn’t spoken to Ronan in almost a year. The breakup had not been amicable or mutual. Ronan did not understand and wouldn't hear him out, and Adam had run out of patience. It had been messy. They hadn’t had any contact since. Their mutual friends never said his name around Adam. He assumed it was the same on Ronan’s end. They all had an unspoken agreement of avoidance and pretending none of that ever happened.
