What, Rin slowly turns around with his hands still buried within a basket of paint. the fuck?
When he looks back, cyan and white strokes seem to be dancing on the canvas. The painting, who’s eyes were before shut, are now half-lidded staring at the flower that was raised against his cheek.
He looks at Rin’s shocked face, and closes his eyes again with a grin.

A flower he had learned back then, in a gardening book he stumbled upon at the library while trying to stall time and avoid home. It was dusty and uncared for– but something about it attracts him, so he pulls the tip and slips it out of its slot.
The book was decently thick, the pages yellowing and the cover slightly scratched. Everything About Flowers: From Gardening to Symbolism! stares back at him in fading letters. How the library allows books to get this bad, he doesn't know, and honestly doesn't care.
