Summary
Now, Bormethius is a good man. He likes to think that he is a good man. But these are lawless lands, these woods, and so he admits that he does not quite have that same grasp on reality as he had back in the city. He loses his mind, the first two days - there's nothing for him to do, no one for him to help, and he's all but useless.
Which is why he goes off script: "Are you coming in or not?"

Mira’s voice broke in again. “Celine knew the whole time, too?” Now she could feel the anger in her voice start to leak in. Rumi just nodded, feeling the tears continue to stream down her face.
“She said you wouldn’t understand… that you’d hate me… and as much as I disagreed, I couldn’t quite face up to it. I let myself believe it.”
A large pause of silence fills the car between them. Rumi just tries to keep her breathing steady. Then, Zoey exclaims in a loud voice,
“What the fuck would she know?”
