Bucky climbs back into bed with him. He lays on his side and throws an arm over Sam’s belly. He looks happy and satisfied- like Sam feels and for a fleeting moment Sam wonders if he's going to fall asleep here. Even if he does, he won't stay until morning. He never does.

Sam eyes the brown-haired guy next to him suspiciously. He knows he's in already. Sam swore to protect when he joined SHIELD. Plus, he's a bit too curious to say no now. “Of course, Director, Commander. I'm in.”
Steve cracks a little smile again. “Good to hear.” Then he takes a big sigh. “Agent Wilson, I’d like you to meet James Barnes.”

He sees Sam and immediately starts laughing. It’s a hoarse thing, a rusty chuckle. Really, it sounds kind of maniacal, like an old, tarnished jack-in-the-box that can’t play its tune correctly. Sam should run. He knows he should just turn around and leave. The world’s most deadly assassin is pointing a gun at him and laughing.
But Sam Wilson has always been an adrenaline junkie.

“You ever think about getting help for real?” Sam asks, passing back the blunt. He normally wouldn't bring it up so soon into Bucky’s stay, but it's supposed to snow for like three days straight and that weed is good as shit. He figures Bucky's not going to run on him.
Bucky does make a face and eye Sam carefully as he hits the blunt again. “Why, so you can make an honest man out of me? Put a ring on my finger? Have 2.5 adopted children with me?”
