What an excellent masterpiece!
It has fast pace and vivid characters! LS's psychological depiction is lively and readers can also feel how ZHY gradually opens his heart throughout the process. The two main characters didn't say anything about love, but indeed readers can sense their romantics.
It would read better if the reader could also witness more distinctive details or highlights on LS. For example, what LS could hear about the surroundings and how fabulous and useful his power was. In contrast to ZHK, LS seemed a bit weaker in both plots and characteristics.
LS was pioneered by Wu to go along with ZHY and spend the Chinese new year with Zhang family. however, they were assassinated by a group of enemies. LS and ZHY dealt with them before they were assigned to fetch the mask hidden by ZQL. the enemies continued to pursue them and their leader called Bai seemed to have old grudge with ZHY. LS wanted to persuade ZHY to slower his revenge, but ZHY hypnotized LS to safely unite with Wu.
After that, LS felt him a bit worried about ZHY, while Wu and other Zhang clan determined to save ZHY. ZHY in fact hid himself on his enemy's ferry but the enemy brainwashed a Zhang family man making ZHY have to expose himself under the firearm of the enemies. Luckily, his assistants including LS promptly saved him out of trouble. But the brainwashed man pursued. Another Zhang clan member sacrificed himself to save some time for others to escape. In the end, LS and ZHY to swim in the sea. Hei and Xie rescued them in time.
All of them had a party in Zhang family. in the end, ZHY accompanied LS to the airport and they bade farewell there. ZHY seemed to lock his past and didn't reject a new relationship any more.

I just noticed the next half of this series and read it through at a breath.
Again I am amazed at the writers' techniques in telling an arresting story.
The characters in this story are marvelous including the enemies such as Bai. The writer excelled in the storytelling because the tension and suspicion fill in every plot or every line like Xu Lei. This work is abundant with a lot of callbacks and reference to the original works. Also, it describes the Zhang family elaborately.
It also gave lots of highlights to Liu and meanwhile Liu played an important role in their survival and final rescue. Good job!
The brief plot is like this:
ZQL came to invite Liu to help him in person, so of course as ZQL's fan, Liu accepted that invitation. ZHY found Liu in the team and asked him to leave immediately because of the danger, which was undoubtedly rejected by Liu.
They need to enter an exclusive mountain village to check whether the worshipped God there was a Zhang member. So Liu was assigned to pretend himself as the woman sacrificed to the God along with ZHY. Liu was blinded alone and taken to the cave. He solved the so-called God with the prepared dynamites and fled to a cave imprisoning a Zhang member.
In a critical moment, ZHY suddenly went out and killed all the pursuers after Liu. ZHY subsequently killed the imprisoned member for he obviously lost his mind. when they were escaping, ZHY found Liu have a fever and therefore carried Liu on his back.
Their enemies led by Bai still wanted them. Luckily, Liu heard their locations in time and Zhang clan had to deal with them one by one with assassination. However, a big rainstorm caused floods and their team were therefore scattered. ZHY anxiously rescued Liu but the two was unlucky caught by Bai. Liu therefore had to be the spy of Bai to save ZHY from the hand of Bai. Before he left, ZHY kissed Liu to inscribe a pattern in Liu's mouth. Bai also threatened Liu that she had special tapping settings on Liu so Liu should not leak this secret task to others for the sake of the hostage.
So after the assemblage, Liu just cut the rope when ZQL and other Zhang family covered them to get away from the toxic fog, which of course make others abandon him. Liu did this to make the team abandon him proactively. Then he was saved by ZHX, ZHY's previous partner who should have died hundred years ago. ZHX somewhat proved his identity through his benevolent act of getting rid of the tapping snakes embedded in Liu's body. Albeit his great jealousy, Liu wanted ZHX to tell ZHY that he was still alive.
In the meanwhile, ZHY was actually thrown by Bai into a well to fight against MYG with bare hands. So ZHY had to pull off his tooth to be the weapon. After that, he escaped to meet with Hei and get supplies. Soon, the two resembled with Liu and ZHX. it turned out ZHQ, ZHX's mother, acted as ZHX to test Liu's reaction. ZHQ and her helpers stalled Bai's step.
They found the target coffin that long time ago was listed as the clan taboo for some unaccountable reason. But ZQL wanted to open it and it turned out to be the fog that could turn Zhang clan back to the normal people.
Most of the team immediately retreated because of the collapse.
In this moment, Bai came to this room.
ZHY left behind to revenge on Bai. Bai was killed but ZHY was also severely injured.
The collapse made them impossible to run away smoothly but Liu quickly identified a possible exit.
So with Liu's superpower, ZHY finally got timely and sound medical care provided by Wu and Xie.
By the way, so in the end I can't help but think that Liu's prompt message to Wu on the disappearance of Zhang clan is derived from this kind of compassion:
> 这么晚还不睡，恐怕也是放心不下那些忽然出现又消失的张家人吧。刘丧心里忽而软下来。也不知什么时候起，他开始能够理解吴邪了。但话又说回来，姓张的基本上都是这个德性吧

Lots of details made this work feel realistic.
