Soap had woken up in the night, thinking about his job when he remembered where he was. The cabin. The cabin Ghost had brought him to. The cabin where he swore he saw bodies buried outside.
He looked at the small, rectangular window above before a tiny sigh escaped his lips. Only a tad bit of moonlight had escaped and he could barely see the moon. If only he could see such a sight again. He didn't honor it as much as he should've back then.
He shifted his head against the Sanerio plushies and pillows everywhere. Everything was so soft and fluffy. It was very comfortable and just the right amount of cold in the room.
He glanced over at Gaz, who was sleeping peacefully somehow, despite their situation. A small smile creeping on his lips that slowly died as he processed the situation they were in yet again.
Soap wanted to go back to their old, new life. The life where they were able to life, not so freely, but still partially freely. Sure, they were constantly on the run and paranoid, but it was better than enduring this.

The footsteps get louder, coming in from all sides. But despite the severity of their situation, König isn't worried. This is because the footsteps of their impending doom aren't the only thing getting louder.
The rapid beeping has gotten loud enough that for a few slow moments, it's all he can hear. That beeping ringing through him, aligning with his heartbeat. His eyes close and he listens to that beeping, until it clicks in his head what’s about to happen.
