After Rokurou had finally slain his brother in a duel, he'd become untethered with no real goal to drive him forward. He wasn't sure if anything could ever compel him in the same way, not when his motivation had driven his every step and burned inside him without ceasing. Left grasping at temporary goals, he found Eleanor crying one night. It wasn't till then that he realized his reason to live had always been right in front of him.

Really, it’s the use of his first name that tears Miles out of the shock of seeing Phoenix’s contact name light up his phone.
“Miles,” Phoenix repeats, “I need your help.”
