The voice from behind him seemed to come from his darkest nightmares. Gods, it still sounded the same. Low, nasally, and his name full of want.
Dean was used to being wanted in a way, used to his looks and his power being enough to make people look at him and desire if they knew.
It wasn’t want for him though. He wasn’t sure anyone had ever wanted Dean just for Dean before.Or.
Dean has always hated the curse of his last name.
As one of the few Familiars born with the level of power Dean has, he has been on the run for years from the one who wishes to force him into a bond that he has no interest in. When he is forced once again to escape before that fate is forced on him, a pull that he can't explain lands him right on the doorstep of the first person Dean has ever met who seems to want him for who he is, not what he can give them.
However one who hunts Dean will not be easily stopped, and it will threaten everything Dean is trying to build.

Summary
God, they’re fucked up about the same stuff but in totally opposite ways. Forget skipping chapters, they weren’t even reading the same book.
Alright, in summary: Buck got scared and held on. Tommy got scared and ran. Neither of them actually said what they meant to each other. Buck has wanted to reach out so much he’s been banned from two grocery stores. Tommy has bubbled Buck three times that he is aware of. It’s 10:58 pm, Buck is tipsy on four beers, and his main coping mechanism just crapped out on him.
Oh, and it’s New Year’s Eve.
