A button clicks under the weight of Chuuya’s finger, and electricity crackles through the collar around Dazai’s neck without warning. Dazai flails, scrambling to grip the collar, tug it off somehow-
The padlock doesn’t yield even a little.

Dazai repositions himself on the mattress, pulling up the bandage on his thigh with two fingers to cover an oncoming bruise. Still, to think Chuuya, of all people, would find his way to Nevada. Would decide to indulge in an illegal call boy instead of one of the multitude of legal brothels just outside of the city, and manage to choose Dazai's pimp out of the hundred prowling the street corners.

Dazai then pulled out a beer bottle and held it at an unnatural angle, the cardboard of the case obscuring Chuuya’s view. A sharp hiss indicated it was opened, though Dazai kept it down for just a few seconds too long.
“Here, well behaved puppies get rewards,” Dazai continued, then offering the bottle to Chuuya.
Chuuya stared at the glass for a prolonged moment before taking it by the neck and peering into it.
Sometimes, Chuuya questioned if Dazai just thought he was stupid, or if the other boy was aware that Chuuya wasn’t and simply expected him to follow along blindly anyway.
Dazai hadn’t even bothered to let the little pill dissolve completely before passing off the beer.
“I’m still mad you didn’t buy wine,” Chuuya snarked, bringing the bottle up to his lips to take a generous swig.
