    The All-Star Game is supposed to be harmless. Bright lights, broadcast smiles, forced camaraderie, famous rivals pretending none of it matters.

    Shane can handle all of that. What he cannot handle is Ilya two corridors away, wearing the wrong jersey, captaining the wrong team, and acting like they are not in love.

    Then a bomb threat empties the arena before puck drop. The players are told to stay in their dressing rooms. The delay becomes a lockdown. The lockdown becomes captivity.

    Below the ice, with the league’s most valuable players held as hostages, Shane and Ilya have to survive the night without reaching for each other, without giving themselves away, and without letting fear turn into something worse.

    OR
    A hostage crisis, three targeted All-Stars, and Shane trying not to lose his mind every time Ilya opens his mouth.

    This is not his fucking room. This looks nothing like his house, which he is 99.9% sure he made it back to last night.
    He blinks.
    Once.
    Twice.

    Looks down. Olive-toned hands. Smaller than his, broader, with rounded nails neatly trimmed. Bare thighs, a familiar curling scar tracing the tendon around the kneecap—one he had traced with his mouth the last time he’d seen it.

    “What the fuck—” The sound of his own voice makes him flinch. Too even. Too smooth. Barely husky with sleep, not his at all. The haze burns off fast, panic sharpening everything to an edge, because that is not his voice, and this is not his bedroom, and this—

    This is not his body.

    “I’m trying to figure out,” Rose wonders aloud. “Are you always a complete prick? Just with women? Or just when you lose a game?”

    Ilya barks a laugh, shocked and almost delighted, and his smile spreads wide enough that Rose can see all those pearly whites of his that are so much nicer than she expected any hockey player’s to be. “All the time,” he grins, “all the time. However much of an asshole Hollander has told you I am, double it.”

    She answers truthfully, shrugs her shoulders in her tiny silver dress. “He hasn’t mentioned you at all.”

    After a shitshow of an evening in a Montreal nightclub, Ilya wakes up the next morning in Shane’s bed. Only, he’s not in Shane’s bed — Rose Landry is, and he’s in Rose Landry’s body, and she’s in his. Well, what the fuck are they supposed to do with that?
