As she got closer to the room, she could see the door was slightly ajar. And through the vision panel, she noticed there was a girl. But she couldn’t really recognize who it was as her back was facing the door, sitting a few feet from it.
Without giving it much thought, Natalie opened it and got into the room. Only to be met with the most angelical voice she has ever heard in her life. And that’s a lot given she has a vast musical history.
The girl, had a slim and delicate body, yet you could say it was well-worked from what she perceived from behind.
She was using a long sleeved purple sweater, and her curls were falling behind her back, face down to the guitar. She was sitting on a chair, whispering tenderly to the chorus of a song from The Cranberries Natalie Scatorccio instantly recognized as “Linger”.

Summary
Nat is 28 when he receives the wedding invitation in the mail. He’s in the kitchen when he opens the letter, leaning against the counter. It’s a brightly decorated card, with a picture of Charlotte Matthews and Laura Lee in the center, looking into a sunset, with a big white Great Pyrenees up on its hind legs pawing at them. It’s a nice photo and looks to be professionally taken, but when he sees it he feels bile crawl up his throat, threatening to come out. He clutches the edge of the counter, knuckles white and hands shaky.

Summary
Shauna Shipman has her first (and God willing, last) kid at seventeen years old. Her parents raise Callie while she goes off to Brown. "Until you can support her," they say again and again.
And then college is over, and Shauna is back in town, trying to reconnect with the four-year-old daughter she barely knows. She's not sure she can support herself, let alone Callie.
But it just so happens Shauna knows Callie's Pre-K teacher pretty well already. Or did, anyway. Back before everything blew up.
"Miss Taylor," Callie calls her.
Frankly, Jackie is a lot better with kids than Shauna is.
